I thought a Bob would make the perfect storage device for my hand binding supplies whenever I’m out and about, so I set about making one of my own.
I chose an Ink and Spindle fabric that I love and that had been hiding in my stash for too long.
ETA: Somehow I got my wires crossed – this fabric is actually from another Australian designer of amazing textiles – Moyra from Surface Art. Sorry for any teeth gnashing my error may have generated. Both brands are delightful, and I’m sure none of you regretted popping over to Ink and Spindle at all 😉
I didn’t have a huge amount of luck sourcing twill tape from my local sewing supply store (I was hoping for something interesting like Jane’s measuring tape pattern), but they did have a neutral that matched the fabric perfectly so I couldn’t complain.
The tart inside me thought about making the inside of the box bright red, but my practical side won over – the lighter colour would make it easier to see things inside.
I’m really happy with how it turned out. Pretty and useful.
Another recent finish is two paper pieced shirt blocks (from Carolyn Friedlander’s shirt quilt pattern). These will soon be winging their way over to Hillary at Entropy Always Wins, where she’s putting together a #nudeisnotadresscolor quilt (more info on this here).
That’s it from me – hope you’ve had a great weekend!
