I finished my triangle log cabin quilt block cushion, yay! And I made a matching patchwork cushion cover to complement it.
Initially I was only making one cushion. I sewed this stripy patched square for the backing and I was very happy with how it looked. In fact, I liked it so much I thought it should be a cover of its own. I didn’t want to have to choose which side of the cushion I’d face outward. I wanted to show both sides off at the same time!
I’m happy the offcuts of my triangle log cabin quilt blocks found a home here, too.
And here’s how the triangle log cabin quilt block cushion turned out. I love that it matches my store-bought turquoise cushion.
I decided to use white piping to bring out the centre circle. The piping was a little tricky to install. The edges of the cushion cover had a lot of seams, which is normal given it is made of triangle log cabin quilt blocks. This made the seam fairly bulky.
Next time I would allow a half inch seam allowance rather than a quarter inch. That would make the process of sewing down the piping a little less fiddly.
The backs were two pieces of contrasting Good Folks’ material and a zipper closure.
The colours in these Anna Maria Horner quilting fabrics are just fantastic. I love these saturated jewel tones.
I’m so glad I love the way they’ve turned out as they took a looooong time to put together.
Next up, a baby quilt using these fabrics:

Do you have pattern for this? Or strip size and triangle size?
Hi Althea, they were 1 inch strips and I think the equilateral triangles in the middle had 2″ sides.

Wow I loved your pillows, very super complex.
With the log cabin style.
