I have a new pattern to show to you all today! It’s taken me a while to get this one finalised, but I’m very happy to present The Plus Side quilt.
If you’re anything like me you may have looked at your stash and wondered “how on earth am I ever going to sew my way through all that fabric?”
I have a wardrobe stuffed full of beautiful FQs and half-yards. They all deserve to shine in a quilt – not spend their lives hiding on a shelf.
My desire to make a dent in my FQs lead to the design of The Plus Side.
The Plus Side is FQ friendly and will help you cut down your stash and put it where it should be – on display in a beautiful quilt.
The Plus Side quilt pattern sews up quickly and is really flexible. You can use a FQ bundle from a single fabric line or bring together any number of orphaned fabrics to create a scrappy look.
As the pattern comes in 5 sizes, from crib to king sized, it’s easy to create a quilt that will match the exact amount of fabric you want to use. Even better, if you change your mind half-way through, it’s easy to adjust sizes. Decide you want to add another row? No problem, just pull out a few more FQs and get to it.
The Plus Side comes with a printable colour-in sheet. This way you can explore all the colour choice and placement ideas you have without needing to make a single rotary cut.
Many thanks to the lovely Fiona Bell, Quilting Fairy, for quilting this Rainbow Plus Side.
In a nutshell, The Plus Side:
But most of all, The Plus Side is just great fun! I’ve had such a good time playing around with potential colour combinations and colour placement….have a look: |
The options to customise this quilt with your fabric choices and block placement go on and on.
It’s so easy to make this quilt your own.

Congratulation, such a cool design! :-) And I love that it’s scrap friendly and easily adjustable when it comes to size!
Super cute quilt!
