It’s that time of year again – quilt market time. It’s a tad too far to travel for this Australian, but thank goodness for Amy at Amy’s Creative Side who hosts the Blogger’s Quilt Festival. We can enter the contest and enjoy all the brilliant quilts without leaving the comfort of our homes (or even our pyjamas).
I’m entering my Gather ‘Round quilt in the Modern Quilting category. I expect there will be tons of gorgeous quilts in this category and I can’t wait to see them all.
This pattern sews up quite quickly, which is always nice. Of course I went and ruined that by deciding to quilt a hundred-odd lines across the design.
Truth be told, I really enjoy straight-line quilting. I don’t find it taxing at all, in fact it borders on therapeutic. I’d like to say that quilting’s cheaper than therapy, but I’m guessing it probably isn’t. 🙁
The back was an exercise in impromptu piecing – I just threw together some blocks and then joined them together totem-style.
Enjoy the Festival – I’ll be back soon with another (not yet seen) entry!
