Diamonds in the Deep

Hello All,

I’m very happy to announce my first quilting pattern, Diamonds in the Deep, is available for sale! You can purchase the PDF pattern right here.

Diamonds in the Deep Quilt Pattern

Diamonds in the Deep uses various log cabin blocks to form an asymmetrical colour gradation across the quilt (phew, that sounds technical).

DiamondsintheDeep1
The pattern is a downloadable PDF (not a physical, paper pattern) and contains lots of instructions and cutting guides and diagrams.

DiamondsintheDeep2
Diamonds in the Deep comes with instructions for four quilt sizes: crib, lap, twin and queen.

You can easily make the pattern with yardage or scraps and yardage (as I have here) or completely from scraps. We are nothing if not versatile ;)

DiamondsintheDeep3
I had four wonderful and talented testers make up a version in each size and I can’t wait to show you what they made. But more on that through the week.

  1. Oops…I thought there was a mistake. Instead I misread an 4a for a 4b. I’ve got to get more rest…as I am seeing things! Sorry about that. I need to quit sewing so late at night.

      • Hi: How can I attach a picture of my quilt for you to see how great it turned out? I don’t use facebook or instagram only email. So, I will need an email address to send an attachment. The ladies at the quilt club loved the quilt. I used wool batting and it feels like a dream and quilted so easy.

  2. I am currently sewing together Diamond in the Deep blocks for a twin size and I think you have the layout mislabeled for this size. On the lower right side as your looking at the pattern layout it says to use a 4b triangle instead of the needed 4a that is needed for the side set in. 4 b (2 of them) are for the bottom corners. I thought you might like to make a correction. My quilt is turning our beautifully. I love this pattern.

  5. Congratulations Kirsty, it is a fabulous pattern. I can’t wait to see the rest of the pattern testers quilts, your s and Susan’s are both stunning. You must be so relieved that you are now a proper designer and have a gorgeous first pattern for sale. Good luck with your future patterns.

  7. Oh, oh — I had only seen snippets of Kim’s orangey take of this pattern. The full design in all its glory is lovely. And the dark teal version with the low-volume prints is breathtaking. Well done!
