Hello, hello – welcome back to Bonjour Quilts for a weekend update. I’m trying to get the jump on this weekend (busy, busy) so I’m here on Friday to share all the latest news. Let’s get to it, shall we?
What I’m Sewing…
I’m working on a square throw version of my latest pattern, which is called All The Triangles. For obvious reasons!
This is a fat quarter friendly pattern, which is how I’ve made this and a baby version. But it’s also very scrap friendly and I look forward to creating a version from my scrap bags too. I’m thinking rainbow!
If you like the look of this pattern then you’ll love what I’ve got for you next:
Patchwork Calendar 2025
I have another fantastic collaborative project to share with you – a Patchwork Calendar for 2025.
Nic from Craftapalooza has rounded up 12 other pattern designers and organised the amazing Patchwork Calendar 2025! I’m one of the designers, and my new All The Triangles quilt pattern is my contribution.
This is a real, paper calendar that you can hang on your wall and each month features a different patchwork project. All 12 of the patchwork PDF patterns come with the calendar.
This year you can choose either A4 (Letter) or A3 (Ledger) size, which is fantastic. I’m going for the big one, for sure!
One of the great things Nic arranged is the calendars are printed-on-demand around the world, so your calendar will be printed closer to home and then sent. This means that you’re only looking at 2-5 working days for it to get to you, yay!
I have a blog post up that tells you all about the calendar, who all the designers are and all their beautiful projects. You can find the blog post here, or if I had you at hello then you can go straight over to buy your 2025 Patchwork Calendar.
A great Christmas gift to buy for yourself (or perhaps casually leave the blog post open on your computer when your loved ones are about…😂).
Around the Interwebs…
I always like seeing the Etsy Design Awards finalists. Lots of patterns, shapes and colour palettes that can be a start-point for a new quilt.
This artist needs sharp eyesight and a steady hand to create these beautiful pieces. Want to try a more sewing-friendly version? Why not check out this cute tutorial.
Speaking of eyesight – I thought this artist’s IG feed was impressive!
I love people who see something broken and not only fix it, but make it more beautiful in the process.
Reader Quilts…
I always love to see quilts you’ve made from Bonjour Quilts patterns so please keep sending them in! Either email (Kirsty at BonjourQuilts dotcom), or tag me on Facebook or Instagram.
Cheryl has been working hard to create this upsized version of the Triangle Twist pattern. Cheryl is the queen of borders and she’s worked her magic again here, adding several of her own design. As well as the quilt, Cheryl also whipped up a matching cushion using the Dutchman’s Puzzle tutorial. I’d never noticed how well these two triangle-based patterns play together!
We’re well into October now, so any Halloween projects need to be quick ones. Here’s a small collection of cute skulls sewn from my Skull Patchwork Block tutorial.
Here are Joanne’s twin skulls:
Tery turned a Skull Patchwork Block into a super cute mini quilt.
MaryAnn used some fantastic Halloween themed fabric and turned her block into a tote bag. Perfect for candy collection!
How about some Halloween themed home decor? Marge has the right idea, turning 3 Skull Blocks into a table runner.
Sarah hit it out of the ballpark with this fantastic lap quilt, complete with a funky, scrappy border.
You can find the Patchwork Skull tutorial right here.
Cats’ Corner…
And finally, Tigger (orange) and Lulu (brown), our Burmese cats, send their love.
Have a great weekend!
That’s it from me for today, folks. I’ve a busy weekend ahead – wish me luck getting everything done!
I hope you make some time for sewing this weekend. Perhaps a new project from your 2025 Patchwork Calendar?!
Until next time,
Kirsty x
I read these just to see the cats, an the quilts
Glad you’re here, Glenys! I fully understand I’m in third place as a drawcard for this blog!
