Here’s my latest quilt pattern – the Triangle Falls Quilt Pattern. This is a fun modern quilt with some movement created with the ‘falling’ triangles in each row.
This is a brand new quilt pattern includes instructions for baby, throw, twin, queen and king sizes. I thinks it looks great in solids, and would also make an impact with small scale prints.
The finished Triangle Falls finished quilt measurements are:
Baby quilt: 35″ x 50″
Throw quilt: 55″ x 70½”
Twin quilt: 62½” x 93½”
Queen quilt: 96″ x 96″
King quilt: 117″ x 96″
The cover version was sewn with Kona solids fabric in the following colours:
Sangria
Pomegranate
Bright Pink
Punch
Bubble Gum
Robin Egg
Jamaica
Lagoon
Cyan
Glacier
The binding is in Mediterranean.
I elected to make my triangles the same colour as the row above, but you can arrange your colours however you like. You could even choose a completely different fabric for your triangles, if you like. Lots of design options for you to play with there!
When it came time to quilt my baby quilt I chose a light grey thread. This colour blended in really well across the quilt, no easy feat given how many fabric colours were involved.
I went with a simple straight line quilting design for this quilt. I used all the block seams as a guide for the edge of my walking foot. Then I sewed a line of quilting each side of the seams to give a double checkerboard effect.
The binding fabric is Kona Mediterranean, which I machine sewed down. I actually didn’t have enough navy thread for both the top stitching and bobbin, so I had to adapt. I sewed the top side in navy and used a dark teal for the back (bobbin). It’s very hard to see the difference and I don’t think anyone would notice. (And I don’t care if they do!)
If you love the Triangle Falls Quilt Pattern you can find it in the shop over here.
Happy sewing!
